I was craving a pretty basic burger, so I ordered a standard cheeseburger with fries. They do bacon burgers, jerk chicken burgers, philly cheesesteaks, BBQ, and some desserts like sweet potato pie (which I'd just had for Thanksgiving, but would like to try another time).
My burger was really good. Not earth-shattering, not worth driving across town for, but better than fast food and less greasy than Stanich's. I didn't specify what I wanted on my toppings, but it came with pickles, mustard, lettuce, and ketchup. Normally I don't like pickles or mustard on my burgers, but it totally worked for me this time.
The fries are large steak fries, again, not normally my preferred style of fries. They just get too starchy and gritty sometimes for my tastes; I actually prefer McDonalds fries. But these were pretty good and actually somewhat crisp on the outside. Not oversalted either, which can be a drag. The burger patty itself was done medium-well and nice grill flavor to it.
My better half had a philly cheesesteak with the chef's "special sauce of the day." I'm not a big fan of those sandwiches so I can't compare it to others, but the bite I had was really tasty. The special sauce of the day happened to be a thick garlic sauce and we both gave it two thumbs up. Before Christopher's was in their current location they had a trailer on Alberta. During that time a former co-worker of mine used to get lunch their often and raved about their cheesesteak sandwiches, so maybe that's what they're known for.
Christopher's is close to my house, so I'll probably go back and try something else in the near future. I'd recommend it if you're in the neighborhood looking for a burger or good quality hot sandwich that isn't fast food.
